Cumhuriyet Aniti (Monument of Republic)

Cumhuriyet Aniti, is in Taksim Square on at the beginning of Istiklal Avenue,in Beyoglu district, on the European side of Istanbul. The monument was established to reflect the glorius bravery of Trukish war of Independence (1919-1922).

The famous sculptor Pietro Canonica with the assistance of turkish artists Hadi Bara and Sabiha Bengutas; completed the monument in 1928. The circumference of the monument were completed by Mongeri the architect.The height of the monument is 11 mt.The monument described The great Leader of Turkish republic Ataturk, Ismet Inonu and the soldiers.
