Is Sanat is hosting the outstanding pop-jazz vocal group The Puppini Sisters this month. Modernizing the harmony vocal pop of \'30s and \'40s groups, The Puppini Sisters is formed of bewitching females singing close harmony arrangements. Citing the ‘Sister’ groups of the 1930’s/40’s such as the Andrews Sisters and The Boswell Sisters, although the three are not related, The Puppini’s soon developed their own unique style of vocal-harmony based music. In their first two albums, Betcha Bottom Dollar and The Rise and Fall of Ruby Woo, they combined new versions of classics from the Thirties to the Fifties, jazzy reinventions of rock hits, and original songs. Regarded as a part of retro\'s futuristic vanguard, the Puppini’s have also been affectionately embraced for their re-workings of pop-cult classics such as ‘I Will Survive’, ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’. Filtering every style through their rigorous, sunny, vocal discipline, The Puppini Sisters add a magical sense of style, glamour and tongue-in-cheek humor to their music. Supported on-stage by an appropriately highly skilled trio of jazz musicians on drums, double bass and guitar, the group returned with their third studio effort, Hollywood in 2011, featuring covers of classic film songs.
