Traditional Book Turkish Art
The Project aims at exhibiting contemporary craftsmen’s art work of Turkish book arts such as lettering (hatt), gilding (tezhib), irrigation of paper (ebru), miniatures, binding (cilt) and coating (kat) in order to expose the current level of these arts and making solid contributions to their permanence.First of the exhibition series was realized within 2008 TÜYAP Istanbul Book Fair with distinguished works of contemporary craftsmen under the counseling of Mr. Besir Ayvazoglu, Prof. M. Ugur Derman, Prof. Dr. Cicek Derman and Mr. Mehmet Özcay.While the 2009 exhibition is considered to take place in several locations and to be more visible, the 2010 exhibition is planned to include all craftsmen since 1453 under the title “Craftsmen Past and Present”
